This phytocannabinoid, found in cannabis, is a homologue of tetrahydrocannabinol, the primary active component of Cannabis. The only structural difference is the replacement of the pentyl side chain with a butyl side chain. It was studied by Roger Adams as early as 1942 and is also known as Tetrahydrocannabivarin. Despite being a lesser-known cannabinoid, it still plays a significant role in the properties of cannabis plants.
