Citicoline

This naturally occurring intermediate, also known as cytidine diphosphate-choline, plays a crucial role in the generation of phosphatidylcholine from choline, a common process in cell membranes. Predominantly found in the cells of human and animal tissue, especially in the organs, it is recognized as a brain chemical. In the United States, it is available as a dietary supplement, while it was initially a prescription drug in Japan.
