This condition, known as aphantasia, is characterized by an inability to voluntarily produce visual images in the mind. First described in the 19th century by Francis Galton, it's not deemed a disability or a medical condition. Individuals with aphantasia are unable to 'see' mental pictures, thus lacking a functioning mind's eye.
