Oriented strand board

This engineered wood product, similar to particle board, is created by combining adhesives with layers of wood strands in specific orientations. Invented in 1963 in California, it often utilizes small diameter poplar and aspen trees, particularly in regions like British Columbia. The wood strands are mixed with a waterproof resin and layered together in thick mats, providing a durable and versatile material for various construction applications.
